Record Crowds in KC
Sunday's friendly between the Kansas City Wizards and Manchester United resulted in the largest crowd ever for soccer in KC. 52,424 fans attended the game — beating the previous record by over 15,000 fans.
During the game, the Wizards upset the top-class EPL team 2-1 despite playing with only ten men from the 39th minute on. It was a great day for soccer in Kansas City, as earlier in the day, the team unveiled a model of its new soccer stadium at halftime of the game. The stadium will open next year.
The loss was the first for Manchester United during the first three games of the Red Devil's North American tour. The eighteen-time EPL title winners will face off against the MLS All-Stars tonight at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX tonight.
Three members of the United States World Cup team were selected for the MLS roster — Edson Buddle, Landon Donovan, and Jonathan Bornstein (injured).
You can watch the game at 8:30 PM ET on ESPN 2 and Galavision.
